MANKATO — Deanna Brinks had a goal and two assists to lead the Mankato Galaxy U17 girls soccer team to a 4-2 victory over St. Peter on Tuesday at Thomas O. Anderson field.
Galaxy had lost 3-2 to St. Peter in the first meeting of the season.
Brinks scored an unassisted goal, and Kaitlyn Peters added another goal, with as assist by Maddie Herberg, to make it 2-1 at halftime.
In the second half, Jacqui Miller scored for Galaxy, with an assist by Brinks. Brinks also assisted on the final goal by Herberg.
Galaxy had 16 shots on goal. Mankato goalkeeper Jamie Wright made 20 saves.
Galaxy (5-2-2) plays at 7:15 p.m. Thursday against Fairmont at Land of Memories Park.
Storm 3, Plymouth 2
The Mankato Storm U19 girls soccer team won its third straight game, defeating Plymouth 3-2 at Plymouth.
Plymouth had the edge in shots at 17-15.
Storm goalkeeper Emily Wick had 15 saves.
Meghan Kelly scored the only goal of the first half, assisted by Olivia Ferraro.
In the second half, Nicole Evan scored with an assist by Jessica Wacholz, and Melissa Sorensen added another goal with an assist by Anna Zelenz.
Storm (7-4) plays at 7:15 p.m. Thursday against Prior Lake at Thomas O. Anderson field.
