MANKATO —
The Mankato MoonDogs rallied from a three-run, fourth-inning deficit Monday to down the Alexandria Beetles 10-8 in a Northwoods League baseball game at Franklin Rogers Park.
The MoonDogs struck for three runs in the bottom of the fifth on a two-run homer by Chase Fowler and a sacrifice fly by Chris Munoz to take an 8-7 lead. The Dogs then added single runs in the sixth and seventh innings.
Chris Massoni smacked three hits while Fowler and Nick Matajaczak added two apiece to lead the Mankato attack. Fowler and Massoni each knocked in two runs.
Alika Pruett picked up the win with 4 1/3 innings of relief. He allowed one run on three hits. Derek Howell got the save, putting two men aboard in the ninth before getting the final out.
The win improves Mankato’s record to 10-3, keeping the Dogs in first place in the North Division of the NWL.
Alexandria and Mankato resume their series at 7:05 p.m. today at Franklin Rogers Park.
