Peterson has allergic reaction

MANKATO — Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson had to be hospitalized briefly Monday after having an allergic reaction to some seafood he ate at lunch.

“It was a little scary,” coach Leslie Frazier said. “But everything is fine.”

During lunch, Peterson experienced shortness of breath and swelling in his face, according to Frazier. The team called an ambulance to take Peterson to Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Mankato.

“(Peterson) mentioned that early in his life, he had an allergic reaction, but not as severe as this,” Frazier said.

Frazier said that Peterson, who was unavailable, was back at the dorm and resting comfortably. He expects Peterson, who is on the physically-unable-to-perform list and can’t practice with the team, to continue the rehab of his injured knee today.
