MANKATO — Mankato West had three players reach double figures in scoring in a 74-55 Big Nine Conference boys basketball victory over Rochester Mayo Friday at the West gym.

Austin Majeskie scored 16 points with seven rebounds, Braedan Myers scored 14 with six rebounds and Jake Dale led the Scarlets in scoring with 17 points.

The Scarlets led 39-38 at halftime. They went 27 of 58 from the field and outrebounded the Spartans 32-20.

West (13-8, 10-5 Big Nine) takes on East Tuesday.

Owatonna 53, East boys 29: The visiting Huskies outscored Mankato East 31-14 in the second half to earn the Big Nine Conference victory at the East gym Friday.

Owen Standlander led Owatonna with 10 points.

The Cougars suffered through a poor shooting night. Yasin Omar and Nic Seiler led East with seven points each. Brandon Adema had eight rebounds and Matt Bornholdt had three steals.

The Cougars (5-18, 4-11 in Big Nine) host crosstown rival Mankato West at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Mayo girls 60, West 21: Rochester Mayo cruised to the Big Nine win at home against Mankato West.

Jen Larsen led the Scarlets with eight points. Malorie Veroeven had five assists.

West (7-15, 5-11) plays     6 p.m. Tuesday at East.

Loyola 60, Martin Luther 52: Annie Nawrocki scored 14 points with seven rebounds to help Loyola win the Valley Conference game at Northrop.

Jordyn Strachan scored 13 points with six steals for the Crusaders. Aunikah Bastian scored 15 points with six assists and Lindsey Theuninck scored eight with four steals.

Kayley Shoen led the Knights with 13 points.

Loyola (22-2, 13-1 Valley) travels to Minnesota Valley Lutheran Monday.
