Owatonna handles Mankato East girls

OWATONNA — Mankato East was down 37-15 at halftime and never recovered as the Cougars fell to Owatonna 62-40 on Saturday in a Big Nine Conference girls basketball game.

Claire Ziegler led the Cougars with 13 points and nine rebounds. Taylor Karge scored 12 points with six rebounds.

The Huskies’ Rachel Williamson nailed five 3-point attempts en route to a 19-point day.

East (20-4, 14-2 Big Nine) hosts Mankato West Tuesday.
