MoonDogs win in 11 innings

MANKATO — Chris Munoz smacked an RBI single in the bottom of the 11th inning Thursday to lift the Mankato MoonDogs to a 6-5 victory over Rochester in a Northwoods League baseball game at Franklin Rogers Park.

The ’Dogs trailed 5-4 after 8 1/2 innings before Cody Ferrell led off the bottom of the ninth with a walk. He stole second and tied the game when Chase Simpson ripped an RBI double.

Ferrell, Simpson and Munoz finished with two hits apiece. Derek Howell got the win, pitching two innings of hitless relief. He struck out three.

The MoonDogs (5-2 in second half) host Willmar at 7:05 p.m. tonight at Franklin Rogers Park.
