ST PETER — Six different players scored goals for Gustavus Adolphus Tuesday in a 6-2 nonconference women’s hockey win over No. 4-ranked UW-Superior in St. Peter.
The Gusties entered Tuesday’s game ranked sixth and outshot UWS 38-17. Gustavus’ Andrea Peterson scored the game’s opening goal.
Gustavus netted four goals in the second period as Christine Wicker, Margaret Dorer, Melissa Mackley and Sarah Heinbigner each found the net. Jenny Pusch scored the Gusties’ final goal in the third.
Mackley had a team-high two assists. Dorer, Mari Gunderson, Jessica Doig, Stefanie Ubl, Laura Vanelli, Brigitte Barthol and Danielle Blacker each had assists. Goalie Kitty Hurley made 15 saves for Gustavus.
The Gusties (1-1) host Concordia of Moorhead on Friday.
