MANKATO — Football first, then boys hockey. Baseball and gymnastics will follow.
Mankato East activities director Todd Waterbury has four vacant coaching positions, and he hopes to get them all filled by the end of the school year.
“The plan right now is to get them in chronological order,” Waterbury said.
Eric Davis resigned last week as baseball and football coach at East to accept a position as an assistant football coach at Minnesota State. Hockey coach Travis VanOverbeke resigned last week, and gymnastics coach Jackie Anderson resigned earlier this week.
Waterbury said that the football and hockey openings have been posted and will remain open until April 21.
He has received less than 10 queries about the football job so far, but he hopes that number will grow to around 20 in the next two weeks.
