Alex Anthon scored 26 points with five rebounds as Martin Luther lost the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Championship game 76-67 to St. Scholastica Saturday in women’s basketball.
The Knights trailed at halftime and battled back to cut the Saints’ lead to 70-65 going into the final minute, but Martin Luther (12-15) ran into foul trouble and went cold at the free-throw line.
Brittney Gossen was the only other Knight to reach double figures, scoring 17 points with six rebounds.
Danica Schellbach led the Saints (14-14) with 24 points and 14 rebounds.
St. Scholastica moves on to the NCAA Division III tournament.
