NRHEG downs Loyola 77-71

MANKATO — Kevin Kalis dropped through 24 points on Monday, leading New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva to a 77-71 victory over Mankato Loyola in a nonconference boys basketball game at Fitzgerald Gym.

The game was close most of the way until NRHEG pulled away in the last two minutes. The Panthers converted four free throws down the stretch to clinch the victory.

Nic Mangskau scored 13 points for the winners. Teammates Oakley Baker and Spencer Tollefson added 10 points apiece.

Loyola’s Carson Seifert led all scorers with 30 points. Reilly Knutson finished with 15 points, Connor Tanhoff scored 13 and John Frink had 11.

Loyola (12-14) begins playoff action Monday when it hosts Southwest United at 7 p.m. at Fitzgerald Gym.
