UMAC basketball roundup

MANKATO — Alex Weldon scored 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds for Bethany in an 89-86 Upper Midwest Athletic Conference men’s basketball loss to Northwestern.

Gavin Kroehler scored 27 points for the Vikings (9-12, 7-4 MIAC), Garet Tucker had 16 points and Derek Peterson scored 15 points.

Wade Chitwood led Northwestern (16-6, 9-2 MIAC) with 33 points.

Northwestern 70, BLC women 68: Lutheran had two players with double-doubles in the UMAC loss in Mankato.

Shelby Wiederhoeft had 20 points with 11 rebounds while Kasslin Swenson had 12 points with 13 rebounds. Amanda Edmison scored 13 for the Vikings (6-16, 4-7 MIAC).

Mollie Sir led Northwestern with 21 points.

North Central 86, MLC men 81: Martin Luther had four players reach double digits in scoring in the UMAC loss in New Ulm.

Galen Holzhueter led the Knights (4-18, 3-8 UMAC) with 24 points and 11 rebounds. Kaleb Buch had 20 points, nine rebounds and five assists. Justin Eternick scored 11 points with nine rebounds and Josh Danell had 10 points and eight rebounds.

Nathan Roeder scored 27 for North Central.

North Central 51, MLC women 45: Leah Nass led Martin Luther with 12 points and 13 rebounds in the UMAC loss in New Ulm.

Alex Anthon scored 15 for the Knights (9-13, 7-4 UMAC).

Jorie Grenell had 23 points for North Central (6-14, 3-8 UMAC).
