State Wrestling Update

ST. PAUL — Mankato West senior Tyler Jakes closed out his storied high school wrestling career with a third-place finish at the Class AA state meet on Saturday.

Jakes, competing at 195 pounds, earned a 2-1 decision over Carson Hagen of Worthington to earn the bronze medal. The third-place effort follows a fifth-place finish at year ago.

Jakes ends his career as the all-time career wins leader at Mankato West.
