I am president of South Central College Foundation, North Mankato Campus.
I am appalled at the news coverage concerning the Minnesota State College and Universities presidents’ bonuses.
A little fact finding would tell you the presidents of these colleges were given partial raises and the opportunity to earn the remainder, based on achieving a number of difficult goals.
When they achieved these benchmarks, they would be given their earned compensation.
These individuals are top quality administrators who could earn hundreds of thousands more in private industry. They are public servants to an often thankless constituency.
We need to leave them alone and let them have their hard-earned pay.
