ST PETER —
The Gustavus Adolphus women’s hockey team rallied from a 2-0 deficit in the third period Thursday to down Bethel University 3-2 in a MIAC tournament semifinal game at Don Roberts Ice Rink.
The Gusties got back in the game at 4:34 of the third period when Leah Johnson converted a power-play goal with an assist from Carolyn Draayer. They tied it up three minutes later when Meagan Wanecke hit another power-play opportunity off a pass from Melissa Doyle.
At the 14:38 mark, Gustavus’ Lindsey Hjelm deposited the game-winner. Wanecke and Doyle had assists.
The Gusties’ Lindsey Hibbard stopped 9 of 11 shots to get the win. Gustavus put 39 shots on the Bethel net.
Gustavus now advances to the MIAC finals where it will take on Concordia (Moorhead) on Saturday. Game time is 2 p.m. at Don Roberts Ice Rink.
